HEALLPVC extension for XR41, XR42 & XR43 electrodes

This simple, practical extension is an essential accessory for accurate measurements.

WHAT'S IT FOR?
An extension for reference electrodes is a protection which prevents the electrode from polluting its environment and vice versa.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It's actually an electrolytic bridge simulating immersion of the reference electrode directly in the medium without really doing so. The protective layer around the electrode provided by the extension cause a slight ohmic  fall (resistance x current in the solution), which helps to significantly reduce direct fouling and contamination. The extension must be filled with the electrolyte and the solvent of the solution to be measured.

WHEN SHOULD IT BE USED?
In aqueous solutions with chlorides, an extension must be fitted to use the XR41. In non-aqueous media, thanks to the extension you do not need to change the solvent of the reference.

AND IN PRACTICE?
You half fill the extension with the electrolyte and the solvent of the solution. You then insert insert the sensor with a certain force (after first removing the sensor hydration cap). Only the ceramic part of the sensor should be immersed in the solution placed in the extension. You can finish filling via the opening on the body of the extension with a syringe.
Compatible with a large number of models, this extension can be used in particular with the XR41, XR42 and XR43 electrodes.
